Ingredients of FGF Concentrates / Wanda & Cattle Feed
Concentrates are the rations, having balanced protein, energy, fiber (NDF, ADF), organic matter, micro, macro minerals, and vitamins, which fulfill the required nutrients values as per physiological state of the animal (dairy or fattening). Their formulation is designed in such manner that 3.5 to 4 kg would support 10 liters of milk production. In a simple way, each liter of milk required half kg (1/2kg) of balanced Vanda to fulfill the requirements of the animal.
Cattle Physiology & Feed Requirements
They are generally having low-fiber, high-energy, may be low, medium, or high protein diets. They are fed to raise the energy level of the ration for dairy cattle and to compensate for any other deficiencies that could not be fulfilled by the green forage/Silage provided in the ration. Bottom line is to achieve the maximum production (maintenance, pregnancy & milk Production in form of dairy cattle, while in fattening maximum weight gain) as per genetics by the provision of balanced concentrate/Vanda for dairy cattle.
Concentrates play their role as carriers for various feed ingredients such as vitamins and minerals & a variety of feed additives. Quality of Vanda depends upon selection, mixing, preparation, processing & packing of feed ingredients, furthermore proper storage of final packed concentrate/vanda bags are essential. They must be palatable to attain required levels of feed intake. Proper processing and particle size are important for palatability and ruminal degradation of nutrients.
Major nutritional constituents of Wanda
- Energy: Nonfiber carbohydrates (NFC) and fat,
- Protein: Crude protein, degradable intake protein (DIP), soluble protein (SP), and undegradable intake protein (UIP)
- Fiber: neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid detergent fiber (ADF)
- Macromineral: calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, sodium, sulfur, chloride
- Microminerals: manganese, copper, zinc, iron, selenium, cobalt, iodine
- Fat-soluble vitamins: Vitamins A, D, and E
.
FGF Wanda keeps an intense focus on all those parameters for manufacturing and supplying best quality vanda in terms of complete nutrition, threshold afla-toxin level tested & maximum shelf life; ultimately maximum production will be the result.

Types of concentrate Ingredients
Concentrate ingredients can be divided into two basic groups: cereal grains & protein sources. The feed type and the manner of preparation influence how the dairy cow uses these ingredients.
Cereal grains
Barley, corn, and wheat are the most common cereal grains. The general nutritive characteristics of these grains are:
- high in energy and low in fiber and protein.
- a comparable level of phosphorus when compared to forages.
- low in calcium.
Corn is more widely fed while palatability problems with barley and wheat, limited amounts should be fed in rations for dairy cattle.
Protein sources
- The most commonly used protein sources are meals originated from plant sources. Eg, canola, soybean, sunflower and rapeseed meal. Etc.
- Using sources that are high in protein quality are essential when formulating concentrate mixtures. Protein quality refers to the types, amounts, and ratios of peptides and amino acids that are in a feedstuff.
Therefore, we use high-quality protein sources in FGF Wanda / Concentrates for animals so they receive adequate levels, both ruminally, and post-ruminally, of the essential and limiting amino acids.
